The Journal

Since its launch in December 1995, Infomarine has become the leading shipbuilding, maritime and fisheries journal in Spain and the publication has an ever-increasing international reputation.

Since its launch, Infomarine has released 12 issues per year, making it the only monthly Spanish journal in the shipbuilding and maritime sector.

Infomarine offers its readers all the current industry news in its regular sections and each month concentrates on a central theme related to areas such as Maritime Safety, Towage and Salvage, Marine Electronics, Engines and Propulsion, Shipyards, Shipping Lines, Auxiliary Industry, etc.

First Magazine

To complement all this information, Infomarine publishes a comprehensive report in Spanish and English on all the latest deliveries of ships built at Spanish yards. Our “Exclusive Ship Reports” are a highlight of the journal’s content and are unique with respect to technical publications both in Spain and worldwide.

With a view to adapting to the current environment, Infomarine launched its own fortnightly Newsletter at the beginning of 2010. This brings readers up to date with all that is happening in the shipbuilding and maritime industry in Spain.

The Publisher

The Grupo Editorial Alarcón, Barreto y Asociados was founded in 1995 to launch three of the most important technical journals in their respective sectors, journals that today lead the market in Spain and enjoy a significant international presence:

  • Infomarine, specialising in the shipbuilding, maritime and fishing industry since 1995.
  • Infopower, specialising in the efficient production and use of energy since 1997.
  • Infoenviro, specialising in the environment sector since 2004.

With the cooperation of Infopower and Infoenviro and as part of its mission to promote two growing sectors, renewable energy and the environment, the publisher also organises two leading trade fairs in Spain: PowerExpo and ExpoRecicla.

In 2009, Informa, the leading worldwide specialist in academic, scientific, professional and commercial content, acquired 100% of the shares of Alarcón, Barreto y Asociados, to complete an acquisition process that began in 2004.

Informa, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, currently has 8,500 employees in 43 countries, 150 operative units and over 120 different business lines.

Since June 2010, the three journals form part of iiR España (also part of Grupo Informa), which has been a market leader for over 20 years in the development and management of content and events for its clients.
